 Gospel music is full of history and soul. It comes from a rich tradition of folk songs and church hymns. Gospel stays alive by remaining relevant, taking various aspects of the musical culture of the day and bringing those aspects into the spiritual fold. In modern gospel, jazz has been introduced into traditional songs. This has sparked the musical term “gospel chords.”

Gospel chords are extended chords, such as the 9th, 11th and 13th. Maybe you’re not familiar with these chords. If you’re not sure how to form these chords, here’s a brief lesson.

Start with a dominant seventh chord. This is a basic triad with a flatted seventh added. For example, in the key of C, the basic triad is C-E-G. This is a C major chord. In the C major scale, the seventh is a B, so the flatted seventh is a Bb. To get a dominant seventh, we’ll add the Bb to the basic triad.

This chord can be played in many different ways. You can use the left hand for the root and leave the other three notes for the right hand. You can play all of the notes on one hand. You can switch them around to your heart’s content. When you switch the notes of a chord around like these, you are using inversions.

To get the 9th, 11th, and 13th you’ll have to add more notes to the chord. Since the notes of the octave are number 1-7, you must continue past one octave with numbering. The 9th tone is an octave above the 2nd; the 11th is an octave above the 4th, and the 13th is an octave above the 6th. This is where using different hands for different chord tones really comes in handy. A well-played gospel chord shouldn’t sound cluttered.

Now that you have studied all those extended gospel chords, when are you going to use them? Now that you have studied all those extended gospel chords, where are you going to use them? To start with, any gospel number can be spiced up with some jazz gospel chords. Try them out and see what works for you.

Take a standard like The Old Rugged Cross. In the key of A, the progression is A, A7, D, B7, E, E7, A. To give it some flavor, substitute any of the dominant seventh chords with 9th, 11th or 13th chords. Experiment with them to see what suits your taste. Change the tonalities of the chords. Take the B7 and make it a Bm7. When they are worked into a simple progression, extended gospel chords make things a bit more musical. They give the song more depth and color, creating a rich sonic picture.

Gospel music is always evolving, taking different aspects of modern styles and incorporating them into a whole. Practice bringing some extended chords into old arrangements and see what sounds good to you. With a little practice and experimentation, you’ll find yourself livening up any traditional praise song with a series of well-placed gospel chords.

 Wer Gitarre lernen will, stellt sich vor eine groe Aufgabe, denn Gitarre spielen ist nicht so einfach wie die meisten es glauben. Oftmals haben Menschen im Fernsehen oder in einer Gruppe gesehen, wie der Spieler hier und da an der Gitarre zapft und wunderschne Rhythmen und Melodien kreiert. Doch Gitarren Spielen kommt nicht von nichts. Wer Gitarre spielen will, muss einen langen schweren Weg gehen und langsam das Spielen erlernen.

Wer spielen will muss, ben, das ist vielleicht der richtigste Satz zum Gitarren spielen. Keiner ist vom Himmel gefallen, selten nur versteht man die Technik der Gitarre in den ersten Stunden. Auch die Hand ist an der neuen Bewegung nicht gewhnt. Man muss sich auf mehrere Eigenschaften gleichzeitig konzentrieren. Was macht die rechte Hand, was macht die linke Hand, Noten lesen, Noten verstehen, wie spiele ich welche Note.

Ein jeder Anfang ist schwer, die Basis der Gitarre ist mhsam und manchmal sogar langweilig. Wer fortgeschritten oder gar professionell Gitarre spielen will, muss den schweren Anfang berstehen und sich gedulden, bis ihm die Gitarre vertraut ist. Aber bis dahin ist der Weg lang und schwer. Es muss regelmig, wenn nicht tglich gebt werden.

Die meisten Menschen werden ber die Menge der Zeit verwirrt und irritiert, die ein Anfnger beim Gitarren Spielen Erlernen investieren muss. Jeder der sich erwnscht, flieend und frei Gitarre spielen zu knnen sollte fleiig und sehr regelmig ben!

Die Praxis ist der alleinige Weg zum perfekten Spielen, nur wer auch gengend Zeit in das ben investiert, kann sich von einem Anfnger zu einem fortgeschrittenen Spieler verwandeln.

Wem das tgliche und regelmige ben ein Problem darstellt, sollte sich an bestimmte Tipps halten. Die Gitarre immer vor Augen halten und somit sie leicht greifbar machen. So kann man zum Beispiel die Gitarre zu Hause im Zimmer aufbewahren, in dem man sich am meisten auf enthlt. Die Gitarre sollte immer gut sichtbar sein und zur Hand sein. Wer ein paar Minuten zu Hause frei hat, sollte sofort zu Gitarre greifen und ben. Das ben der Gitarre soll dann jedoch nicht als Pflicht wie zum Beispiel das Splen angesehen werden sonder als Erholung, als Snack im Alltag, so wie das Fernsehschauen oder ein Glas Wasser trinken, um sich zu erkhlen.

Wer immer wieder zur Gitarre greift und immer wieder hie rund da am Tag ein paar Minuten bt, wird am Ende des Tages eine lngere Zeit an der Gitarre gebt haben und schnell merken, wie sehr er sich beim Spielen verbessert.

Dann ist wie beim Joggen. Am ersten Tag wird man hier und da, immer wieder ein bisschen an der Gitarre zapfen und auf 10 Minuten am Tag kommen. Doch wer sich bessert hat mehr Spa an Gitarre spielen, und man gewhnt sich die Sitzungen mit der Gitarre. Bald werden aus den tglichen 10 Minuten eine Stunde Gitarre ben. Und wie schon vorher erwhnt, dass Gitarren spielen ist kein Muss oder eine Qual, sondern eine Erholung, die einem selber einfach nur gut tut!

Also alle Gitarren Anfnger, nicht aufgeben fleiig weiterben! Denn wer den schweren Anfang durchzieht wird das Gitarren spielen am Ende in vollen Zgen genieen!
